Facebook’s big announcement was revealed as a expansive ramp up to its chat/email services, known collectively as “social messaging”.
With millions and millions of daily users served, Facebook gains the unique advantage to instantly capture one of the largest email using audiences in the social media-sphere.
Users will be given the option of creating their own social media ‘inbox’, for example: email@example.com but Facebook promises social messaging will work across all emails platforms including push notifications and text messaging to smart phones.
Facebook also announced the new email features will be added to apps available via mobile phones such as Apple’s iPhone.
